Economy and Trade

America’s worse economic recession since the great depression of the 1930’s was the Great Recession of 2007. It is often said that the banks were at fault. In reality it was massive loss of American jobs due to us out sourcing virtually everything to other countries especially China. According to the Bureau of labor Statistics since during the Great Recession we lost 8.8 million jobs.

For decades China and other countries have been taking advantage of us through unfair business practices under the guise of “Free Trade”. In reality it has been unfair trade with China using virtual slave labor, no environmental regulations, currency manipulation, and theft of intellectual property to undercut U.S. prices and to put American companies out of business.

To recover and maintain American economic leadership, we need to renegotiate trade agreements with China and other countries that have been using unfair business practices. We need to stimulate Made in America by placing punitive tariffs on countries that tax us and those counties that are cheating. We must reduce our regulations so our companies can be competitive while being careful to protect the environment. We can further stimulate our economy by reducing funding for ineffective entitlements and bloated government bureaucracies, both of which are not only wasteful, but counterproductive.  We must not forget those who are struggling and help with a hand up through education and job opportunity. Our economy is now improving with companies coming back to America, unemployment lowest in our history, and truly higher wages for the first time in decades. By promoting Made in America and stimulating real job creation we will create a healthy economy and a strong America for us and future generations.
